22 Days Unill the 24th

AndyJensen - 7/2/09

Wow a news update, you sure are being spoiled. I'm working on a ton of projects right now, working on a little bit of each as I procrastinate finalizing any of them.

My Windows7 online script is at a dead halt simply because I could care less if it gets finished. It has served it's purpose, helping me better understand CSS/XHTML interaction with Javascript.

The advertisement video I'm developing for BP should be done by the 10th, I just need to "tighten up the graphics" and set the final titling.

I've also started working for Thrust Communications as a web developer, it's fun stuff. The site should be online soon, I'm looking forward to working with them.

As I write this, I'm procrastinating working on a COD2 logfile parser, so far all it does is colorize player names inefficiently and parse out the player QUITS, (I've only built 2 functions EL EM AY OH.)

Also working on a secret project for BP. Release for it is a bit off, hopefully I'll have it 100% August 1st. I've been sidetracked with building a PC client that would interact with our webserver, BUT that came to an end when I was able to reverse engineer the file and retrieve the site database login info (OOPS!) A video of the client that will never be released is HERE as this poses no real security threat to the secrecy of my project. The clues are all around anyways, just look. I really think everyone is going to enjoy the project though, launch will be interesting, CRON!!!!!!!!!!!

Well...that's all I have for you this second of June. Happy 4th, have fun, drink responsibly, and stay safe.

LURN 2 INTERNET

I think I'm a schizophrenic, I keep trying to write posts for this stupid site and I get to the end of a paragraph and delete it. This is like my 5th attempt. Screw it, this is all I'm putting up. I should have big news in about 10 days.

In the meantime, play with this.

Ode to a Subnet Ban

AndyJensen - 4/16/09

When you've been running an online gaming tournament for a while you learn who the bad seeds are. You take corrective action to make them acceptable members of your community and they still find ways to irritate your members, especially your staff.

I love getting news about someone circumventing an account ban, because that means I get to add more time, and more restrictions to the account/ip of the user. I've now contracted my grasp on one account in particular. The player decided to try and sneak onto a voice server, (LOL YOU USED YOUR ACCOUNT INSTEAD OF BEING ANONYMOUS!) and was too obvious. One of the tournament staff noticed quite quickly and copied down your IP. I was given 24.4.191.68 and your forum IP is 24.4.191.210. Such a wide range only means that instead of banning particular addresses, I should chop off the top of the flower and go down a subnet. 24.4.191.* covers your entire subnet, your IP may be dynamic, but it's confined between 1 and 255, a * can be any number and thus you are denied access. If you are reading this silly goose user, do note, the next attempt you make at circumventing one of my punishments, will result in your subnet being banned from the webserver's root. Anyone else reading this, laugh hard at fools being foolish.

*Prances around victorious.*

Also in musical awesomeness I have 2 announcements. The first is RADIO FREEDOM will be hosting a concert May 1st, and I'm excited to see it.

AND! Professor Kliq released a SWEET mix of Jay-Z's Dirt Off Your Shoulder, check it out on their site here professorkliq.com/doys.php

Umbrella Radio

I have a new video I just made earlier this morning. On Sunday my tournament Breaking Point had a battle and for once I actually played, rather than doing admin tasks. Judging by what transpired, I should play more often. I got some great clips for MaDSKiLLz to cut up for his Top 10 plays, and I also got some good clips for my "I'm Andy Jensen, and I Own You" (working title) video. That video has absolutely NO release date. The project entails getting footage from every game I play, CNC:RA2 through CS:Source, and making a 3-5 minute video of me destroying people.

I also am VERY pleased with some work I did for Radio Freedom Underground. Check out that site for one of the sweetest posters EVAR! I have the first ever printed poster, signed by the leader of the organization and myself, take that!

In other news, with spring approaching, that means I can go out and do some work on my car. I plan on putting a modified webcam in the grill or windshield of my car. Reason? Because I can.

New site, new concept. I actually plan on updating this site. I have a lot of outstanding projects, and I have a lot of developer resources I plan on sharing with people who want to get into coding and web design. As time goes on I will be posting website modules and widgets I've created for public use. Those will be added to my site under a new section not yet named.

I'm also looking for the bright young minds of tomorrow to start up a small side projects to develop websites. If you can't produce industry compliant scripts (XHTML 1.0 Transitional / CSS 2.1) don't bother contacting me. I fully support the W3C and policies they use to correctly validate websites.

Right now this site is pretty bare and content is small, but I plan on putting a bunch of things into this site and making it a good resource for people.

Enjoy!
